About 40% of the entire world’s annual energy consumption is expend on cooling industrial and residential buildings. Recently, alternative energy sources, especially passive cooling, have been increasingly used for these purposes. Passive cooling is a set of natural processes and techniques to reduce indoor temperatures, through exploitation of all elements of building materials. Passive cooling techniques are aimed to achieve the thermal comfort conditions in the building.
