The goal of the article is to test the conventional extraction methods of our candidate plant (Salvia officinalis, AKA sage) in attempts to find out the most economical and powerful technique for the extraction of profiles of phytochemicals of interest, which are going to be used in a further stage of the dissertation. After extraction, the extractability of substances was assessed according to the total flavonoid content, total phenolic content, and antioxidant activity, with each profile having its own assay, which can give us a clear idea on which extraction method was the idea for the studied plant and conditions. The compared extraction solutions were alcohol and water, and the results, so far, show that water extraction exhibited an overall higher extraction potential.
