Food waste is a global issue with environmental impacts, particularly at consumer level. University students exhibit distinct food waste patterns influenced by living conditions and autonomy. While general consumer waste is studied, no comparison exists between students in dormitories (shared kitchens, communal catering) and private apartments (full purchasing/preparation autonomy). Understanding these behavioral differences is essential for targeted reduction strategies. This research preliminarily compares food waste behaviors and carbon footprints between these two student groups.
