Linear frequency chirp is a practical control knob for ultrafast excitation in transparent media because it reshapes the temporal ordering of frequencies and, consequently, the time-resolved energy deposition that seeds plasma formation. In liquids, however, chirp studies are often complicated by coupled changes in spectral bandwidth and peak intensity, making it difficult to attribute plasma-yield variations to chirp alone. This work addresses that attribution problem for femtosecond excitation of a 150-µm liquid water jet, aiming to separate (i) intensity/bandwidth effects from (ii) the intrinsic chirp contribution to plasma build-up.
