This study explores plasma motion, emission spectra, and structural modifications in glass using nanosecond laser backside irradiation (LBI). A pulsed fiber laser (1064 nm, 200 ns) was focused on a stainless-steel absorber, generating a plasma spark that propagated through the glass. High-speed imaging (10,000 fps) revealed oscillatory plasma behavior, with velocity and size variations linked to power density. Spectral analysis showed temperature and emissivity changes along the plasma path. Modified regions exhibited periodic structural patterns, indicating a connection between plasma dynamics and material response. These findings demonstrate the potential of nanosecond LBI for precise material modification in optics and microfluidics.
