We created hybrid materials based on cellulose and hydroxyapatite, as well as to showed their higher efficiency as drug delivery systems compared with pure cellulose. We formulated a methodology for the synthesis of hybrid materials, examined their structural attributes, quantitative and qualitative composition, explored the mechanisms involved in the loading and subsequent release of model pharmaceuticals from these materials.
