In our work we describe the process of obtaining and testing 3 mutant variants of human rhodopsin, which can be used for optogenetic retinal prosthetics. The technology involves imparting photoreceptor function to retinal bipolar cells by introducing light-sensitive proteins into them. The obtained mutants were tested on the reporter cell line HEK293, in which the level of red fluorescence increased in response to activation of the introduced rhodopsin.
