This research explores the world of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), focusing on a type called HKUST-1, and examines how it reacts to UV and IR laser light. Employing advanced spectroscopic and microscopic techniques, the research examines HKUST-1 samples on two substrates: bare quartz and quartz with a thin titanium coating. The investigation seeks to understand how different laser parameters, particularly varying wavelengths and intensities in the UV and IR spectrum, influence the structural and optical properties of HKUST-1. Key properties such as reflection, transmission, refractive index, extinction coefficient, and energy bandgap are analyzed post-irradiation to discern the precise effects of laser interaction with the MOF material.
