The Research idea: students do not speak enough in open questions Theory: Task Based Learning can achieve more speaking at University in Russia. Goal: determine what motivates students to speak in open class questions. Four methods have been chosen: 1. use of TBL in C2 CEFR Master classes and in a Bachelor class as control group to test its effectiveness, 2. the motivation of students has been explored with a. a survey with open and semi-open questions, b. a small group interview and c. Reflective Writing to get both quantitative and qualitative data. Results: confirmation that TBL makes students speak and motivates them more. Conclusion: TBL works in Russia and motivates students to speak more with project work.
