Conventional optical fibers exhibit limited performance in the UV spectral region due to the high absorption and solarization. Hollow core optical fibers offer a promising alternative as they can eliminate these issues. This study investigates the behavior of hollow core optical fibers with varying diameters concerning the input and output of UV radiation when modulated using COMSOL Multiphysics. The study assesses their transmission losses and the efficiency of microlenses fabricated at the fiber's end. The model results provide the optimal angles for the radiation input and compare the behavior of different microlenses. Hemispherical microlenses were successfully fabricated at the end of hollow optical fibers with varying diameters using a CO2 laser-based setup.
