One of the promising methods of gene therapy is the technology of antisense oligonucleotides (ASO). However, they have the disadvantage of insufficient selectivity, which can lead to the death of healthy cells. In this work, using their modified version - binary ASOs, as well as additional sequences, we have achieved the creation of constructs that are able to recognize and respond only to high concentrations of the miRNA-17 oncomarker, as well as to distinguish it from the normal cell metabolite miRNA-20.
